How long has your company been in business?
  First Insight is based in Hillsboro, Oregon and was founded in 1994 by current president and CEO, Nitin Rai.
   
How many employees work at your company?
  First Insight employs more than 80 full-time employees; 40 are dedicated to service, support and training and 35 are dedicated to software development.
   
Do you focus solely on eye care products?
  All First Insight products — maximEyes, paradEyes.com and optometry.net — are solely dedicated to the eye care industry.
   
What type of technical platform do you use?
  MaximEyes uses FileMaker Pro, an award-winning relational database, for Windows. FileMaker Pro has more than 11 million installs world wide. It is one of the most customizable databases available today.  One of the most powerful features of maximEyes is that you enter data only once!

FileMaker Pro is used by large organizations, such as Kaiser Permanente, Lockheed Martin Aeronautics, Mayo Foundation, NASA, Children’s Hospital Medical Center, United Airlines, Adobe Systems, Cornell University, etc., to easily organize and share results, records, and other data across workgroups and over the Web very successfully.   First Insight supports more than 2,200 eye care practices nationwide.
   
What types of training do you provide?
  First Insight strongly believes in providing hands-on, comprehensive onsite training for every client. Our certified trainers are highly experienced in the eye care and software industry. On-site training at your practice is included with the purchase price of maximEyes and the number of days will vary depending upon the size of your practice and the modules you opt to buy.

First Insight is unique in that we provide a second follow-up training session, IN PERSON, on more advanced questions that inevitably come up once you have the momentum going.

First Insight also offers a variety of ongoing training options to help you make the most of your investment in maximEyes, such as First Insight Corporation University, on-site training at your practice, phone trainings, Internet-based E-Training classes, regional trainings and Webinars. Do you provide training guides?
  All maximEyes clients receive electronic comprehensive training guides, quick reference guides, and other support materials. In addition, all documents are available 24/7 on First Insight’s “For Customers” website at http://customer.first-insight.com. Clients can easily download important e-claims and billing news, VSP Catalog updates, search for hundreds of frequently asked questions, and other important industry-related news.
   
Is your software HIPAA compliant?
  MaximEyes is HIPAA compliant for privacy, security and transaction codes. First Insight is approved and certified as a vendor by most major insurance companies and clearinghouses covering almost all states to submit EDI claims in the HIPAA Compliant ANSI X12N 837 (Version 4010A1) format.

MaximEyes is compatible for submitting the CMS 1500 (08/05) Claim Form that incorporates the National Provider Identifier (NPI). Can I get a maximEyes demo CD?

Can I arrange for a live demo of maximEyes and other First Insight products?
  Yes. Call 800.920.1940, Option 1 or email us to schedule an online demo. Live demos typically take approximately 30-45 minutes and will be arranged to fit your schedule. We also recommend that you review our online demo and see how a typical maximEyes office runs.
   
Do I have to pay for software upgrades?
  As long as your support is current with First Insight, upgrades to the newest release of maximEyes are free. However, if you decide to add new modules, links, or new licenses, there will be additional costs for licensing and support.
   
How much does maximEyes cost?
  The purchase price of maximEyes is based on which modules and links you purchase, as well as the number of maximEyes licenses you require for each workstation. In addition, if you are a member of Vision Source, Texas Optometric Association, Proactive Optometric Physicians, or Carl Zeiss Vision Rewards Program, you may qualify for preferred pricing. Is there a fee for customer support?
  Annual support fees are billed annually and will be based on the number of licenses and modules you purchase from First Insight. First Insight strongly believes that exceptional customer service is a sincere and important aspect of our business. What options do you offer for electronic medical billing?
  With our Electronic Claims module, you can transmit claims data from maximEyes directly to Medicare, Medicaid, and BlueCross BlueShield in most states, and to major commercial insurance carriers via a clearinghouse. MaximEyes is HIPAA compliant for electronic claims submission in the HIPAA compliant ANSI X12N 837 (version 4010A1) format.

Do you offer any financing for First Insight products?

What type of hardware should I purchase before I install maximEyes 6.1?
  The hardware and software listed on our Hardware and Software Systems Requirements document has been tested and is supported by maximEyes 6.1 and higher. To ensure optimum software performance and data integrity, you must use only tested and supported hardware and software.

When you purchase new hardware, we highly recommend that you exceed hardware minimum requirements (processor speed, RAM, etc.) to stay ahead of advancing technology. It is very important to use high quality hardware where high performance is necessary.

We also highly recommend that you hire a certified hardware and networking technician to assist you with all installations, networking, and upgrades. We highly recommend that you use Microsoft® certified MCSE technicians and always follow-up with references.
